Workshop on “Digital Technology and Ethics in the Field of Accounting and Auditing”

On June 10, 2025, the Chairperson and Executive Director of the Public Oversight Board (POB) participated in the workshop “Digital Technology and Ethics in the Field of Accounting and Auditing,” organized by the Department of Accounting at the Faculty of Economics, University of Tirana, within the framework of the “Jean Monnet” project, in cooperation with the European Union.

The Chairperson of the POB, Mr. Dritan Fino, emphasized the importance of the university’s role as a key link in the academic preparation of accounting professionals, the positive impact of digitalization on audit quality and financial reporting, as well as the necessity of exercising professional judgment and ethics in the use of new technologies.

• Digitalization is transforming audit practice by increasing the demand for skepticism and professional judgment, adequate technical preparation, and an ethical approach to the use of technology.
• The POB remains committed to promoting advanced practices in this field, contributing to the development of professional and ethical standards in Albania.
